THE HUMBLE (AND NOT SO HUMBLE) COMMA

Recently, in writing group, we decided to do some work with grammar. I love grammar. I might not be particularly good at it, but I love it nevertheless. There is something that feels “safe” about knowing you have a good structure to hang your writing from. No matter what the writing project it’s improved by nice, clean grammar.

I therefore thought I would share our grammar adventures.

This week, the comma. I’m hoping my partner in crime, Terri will share her contribution of poetry devices as well. I would suggest my son might write up his presentation on iron but…teenage boy, what can I say?

I hope you enjoy. If you have any questions (or corrections/additions) please comment and I will respond.
